These are PTFE (polytetrafluorine) hoses, braided with 304 stainless steel, which also act as reinforcement and increase pressure. They can be used in a variety of fluid, hydraulic, air compressors, or gas applications of temperature, purity, or corrosion resistance of major concern, such as in short, low pressure steam lines (not steam/cold water circulation), food-grade beverage lines (conforming to FDA 21 CFR 177.1550), chemical, or truck/bus air compressor discharge. * Special note: Our PTFE tubes can be made with conductive carbon to make anti-static tetrafluoride tubes which are used for electrostatic accumulation is a problem, as well as with fuel, combustible, and steam. Because the reinforcement is exposed and also ACTS as a covering, it is not designed for abusive or rugged environments. Our standard SAE100R14 has white ptfe tubes; For applications with electrostatic problems, please use our NL530 SAE100R14 electrostatic conductive black ptfe tube. For chemical applications, refer to chemical resistance chart and drain after use. Where there is a risk of suffocation, hoses should be installed in well-ventilated areas.
