These are PTFE (polytetrafluorine) hoses, braided with 304 stainless steel, which also act as reinforcement and increase pressure. They can be used in a variety of fluid, hydraulic, air compressors, or gas applications of temperature, purity, or corrosion resistance of major concern, such as in short, low pressure steam lines (not steam/cold water circulation), food-grade beverage lines (conforming to FDA 21 CFR 177.1550), chemical, or truck/bus air compressor discharge. * Special note: Our PTFE tubes can be made with conductive carbon to make anti-static tetrafluoride tubes which are used for electrostatic accumulation is a problem, as well as with fuel, combustible, and steam. Because the reinforcement is exposed and also ACTS as a covering, it is not designed for abusive or rugged environments. Due to the rigidity of ptFE pipes, special care must be taken to prevent such pipes from kinking or exceeding their bending radius
Our standard SAE100R14 has white ptfe tubes; For applications with electrostatic problems, please use our NL530 SAE100R14 electrostatic conductive black ptfe tube. For chemical applications, refer to chemical resistance chart and drain after use. Where there is a risk of suffocation, hoses should be installed in well-ventilated areas.
Structure: Tube: White extruded 0.030 “smooth porous PTFE. Housing and reinforcement: a high strength 304SS steel wire braid.
